Maya Gomez was born in Switzerland and has both Swiss and Philippines origines. She achieved her studies at the dance conservatory in Barcelona, Institut del Teatre. In that same city she started her professional career in 2010 working with the young dance company IT Dansa.
In 2012 she moved to Berlin and started working as a freelance dancer and performer artist. Collaborating with various dance companies and art projects around Europe. Such as; the Kungliga Operan in Stockholm, Gwyn Emberton Dance company in UK, Song of a Goat theater in Poland, teatro Regio in Italy, Berlin Biennale and many others.
Since 2013 Maya has been collaborating in a regular basis with the renowned company SashaWaltz&Guests. She started to work as well with the dance company Tanztheater Erfurt, where she was given the soloist role in the Rite of the Spring.
Since 2019 she is a member of the association Moving Poets Berlin in the field of dance and choreography. Which she choreographed and assisted for the production “Heaven” performed by the young dancers of the Charlotte Ballet at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center Charlotte, North Carolina USA. In addition, Maya started her studies to become a Feldenkrais instructor.
Maya joins Habemus Corpus in 2015 with the production 0,1234 and was as well in Aire in 2017 premiered at the Mercat de les flors in Barcelona for the Grec Festival. She comes back to HC 2020 for the big production AMNEA.
